At this difficult time, as a school community we must remember to thank all of those people who are working so hard to help vulnerable people and save lives. The first of these groups of people we would like to express our thanks to are those who work for the NHS (National Health Service). You may know some of these people: they may be family members, neighbours or friends. While many of us are safe in our homes, the NHS workers are working long shifts and helping so many people. They are our heroes and deserve our thanks and gratitude
We would like all children in Years 1-6 to write a letter of thanks to anyone working for the NHS. You may want to use the following to help with your paragraphing and to support the structure of your writing:
- 1. Reason for writing.
- 2. Describe what the NHS staff are doing during this difficult time.
- 3. Your experience of the NHS – when has a doctor or nurse helped you or someone in your family?
- 4. Explaining why we are so grateful to have such a wonderful NHS in this country.

If possible, we would really like it if this work could be word processed (typed) and emailed to this email address: admin@williammorris.merton.sch.uk by Friday April 3rd 2020, as we would like to put some on our school website and display some around the school.
Thank you,
Mrs Bull
