Welcome to Roots Class!

Our class name is based on the inspirational entrepreneur Levi Roots, who came from humble beginnings to become a multi-millionaire and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) for his continued contribution to entrepreneurship and food. Through perseverance, resilience, determination and a love for cooking, Levi Roots has become a great role model in our society. In Roots Class we will strive to live up to the great example that he has set with our own determination to succeed. We are a class that always treats each other with respect, kindness and encouragement. By working together, the continuing development of our leadership skills and collaborative work ethic will ensure we thrive.

Levi Roots

With an exciting learning journey planned for this year, there will never be a dull moment in Roots Class. With our thirst for learning and forward thinking mind-set, we will be asking questions, researching and experimenting through the fabulous themes we cover. We will begin the year delving into the scientific concept of Earth and Space and we will read about brilliant mathematicians and engineers, who overcame prejudice and significant contributions to NASA's early space programs. Later in the year, we will embark on a journey back in time to Ancient Egyptian and Mayan times. Throughout the year, we will focus heavily on our own mental health and wellbeing, developing strategies to ensure we are looking after ourselves well.
