Teacher's Comments

Welcome to wonderful Roots Class! Our new class name is based on the inspirational entrepreneur Levi Roots, who appeared on the fourth series of Dragons' Den. In Roots Class we will strive to live up to the great example he has set through perseverance, resilience and creativity. We are a class that always treat each other with respect, kindness and support; ready and willing to help a friend in need.

You are Braver than you believe, Stronger than you seem, and Smarter than you think.

With an exciting learning journey planned for this year, there will never be a dull moment in Roots Class. Building on our thirst for learning and forward thinking mind set we will be asking questions, researching and experimenting through the fabulous topics we cover.

Believe something is impossible, and you will surely fail. But believe in yourself and you can do anything.

We will begin with a journey back into the murky past of the Medieval Times, learn about how the plague started as well as it affects and our first exciting text will take us on a learning journey into the legend of King Arthur. An imaginary trip up into space will take place during the spring term alongside a captivating text about a girl who uses the stars to guide her. In the summer term, we will take part in a 'Big Dig!' as part of our Allotment topic along with many more interesting topics throughout the year that will definitely keep us very busy.

By working together, the continuing development of our leadership skills and collaborative work ethic will thrive.
